What If My Insurance Does Not Cover Bariatric Surgery?

Patients whose insurance will not cover bariatric surgery often opt to pay for the surgery themselves. If you would prefer to finance your procedure, Oregon Weight Loss Surgery, LLC will put you in touch with the right person to help make that happen.

For our self-pay patients we have contracted special pricing with all of the providers and the hospital.  We also include a year of follow-up care for all procedures and are the only practice that gives you BLIS assurance.  BLIS is insurance protection for bariatric surgery related complications for 90 days following surgery.  Additional coverage can be purchased if desired.

Patients who elect to pay for bariatric surgery themselves should keep in mind that it may be tax deductible since it is considered a major medical expense. A consultation with an accountant may be advised.
